Case Study

Shared Lists

These were the initial steps in a centralized data management system.

The Need

Our clients use the same options and ask the same multiple choice questions in hundreds of forms across hundreds of processes and workflows.

To keep all that aligned and keep the data consistent, we needed a way to ensure those options were the same every time they were shown and would be updated everywhere when needed. This helped with both tracking and analytics and sped up implementation and updates across the board.

Future Planning

Knowing that this would not be the end of the effort, we also devised a multi-stage plan that took us from simple lists of strings up to lists of complex data objects.

The initial request covered a broad range of item types, from simple lists of text strings to collections of much more complex data objects.

Our plans had to incorporate the schedules of multiple other apps, all needing this data and all being developed simultaneous to this effort.

Result

To do this, we created a simple application for creating and managing the lists themselves, along with a custom form field configuration for integrating those lists into our form builder.
